Préludes Flasques (pour un chien) (Flabby Preludes for a Dog) by Erik Satie, is a light-hearted jaunt through the various interactions of life with a canine companion. The four-movement work is the second in a set of three pieces of the same name (the third being Truly Flabby Preludes for a Dog) written in 1912. The four movements: I. “Voix D’intérieur” (indoor voice) II. “Idylle Cynique” (cynical romance) III. “Chanson Canine” (dog song) IV. “Avec Camaraderie” (with friendship) are quaint tidbits of Satie’s famous sense of humor. Originally written for piano, the piece has been arranged by Tandem Duo to split the right and left hands between the two players. In this movement about the "dog song," you can hear the "dog barking" at two different points in the piece.
